Resort Township Compost Park

Resort Township is proud to provide its residents with a community compost park located at 4888 Resort Pike Road. Materials collected here are later transferred to the Emmet County Recycling Pleasantview Road Drop-Off Center.

Compost Park Hours

Starting Saturday May 2, 2026 the compost site will be open Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, 8am-6pm and Saturday, and Sunday 10am – 5pm.

Accepted Materials

The following materials are readily accepted at the township compost park,

Compost materials to include, 
grass clippings,
leaves,
plants,
weeds,
pinecones,
shrubs,
vines

Branches/tree limbs 1″ to 4″ in diameter

We are currently unable to accept the following
Stumps
Wreaths
Garland
Boards
Posts
Pieces of wood
Rocks

Many of these materials may be dropped off at the Emmet County Compost Center located at 7363 Pleasantview Road outside of Harbor Springs. For additional information please visit their Compost Page.
